Hispanic Dental Association’s Building Our Leaders in Dentistry (BOLD) Program receives a 2015 Power of A Silver Award.
The American Society of Association Executives has named the BOLD Program one of its 2015 winners of its Power of A Awards,
which showcase how associations leverage their unique resources to solve problems, advance industry/professional performance,
kick-start innovation and improve world conditions.
“Each year, the Power of A Awards recognize the lasting, positive impact associations have on society,” said ASAE President and
CEO John H. Graham, FASAE, CAE. “The awards give us a chance to celebrate the extraordinary activities that associations undertake.
They give us specific, moving stories that we can share with policymakers, the media, and other key audiences to increase awareness
about the association sector and its contributions to America and on a global level.”
The BOLD Program was created in South Texas by the San Antonio Chapter of the Hispanic Dental Association. The program and
its components are now replicated by other chapters of the HDA throughout the US. The BOLD Program has reached over 3000
students since its inception. The goals of the program are geared towards encouraging minority youth to enter the dental profession
while providing those who choose the profession with financial support, scholarships and mentoring.
The formal award presentation will be made at the upcoming HDA 25th Anniversary Conference,in San Antonio, Texas.
