WASHINGTON, DC April 24, 2013 – HDA Executive Director David Pena attended the launch of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) enhanced National Standards for Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services in Health and Health Care.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) released the updated national standards to help organizations and health care professionals improve quality of care and reduce health disparities. Hispanic Dental Association Makes Strategic Move to DC and Selects New Executive Director David Pena

WASHINGTON, Feb. 7, 2013 — The Board of Trustees of the Hispanic Dental Association announced today the opening of their National Office in Washington DC and their selection of David Pena, Jr of Austin Texas as its Executive Director and CEO.

The relocation of HDA’s national office is both a strategic and policy decision. For over twenty years the national group has worked on oral health issues and access to care from its Springfield Illinois office. During 2012 and at the height of the Obamacare debate the National Board of Trustees decided it was the right time to move to the nation’s capital to have a direct impact on policy discussion at the Federal level.
