The Colgate-Palmolive / Hispanic Dental Association Student Recognition Award recognizes graduating students who are members of the Hispanic Dental Association and who help to promote and improve the overall quality of oral health for the Hispanic population. Two awards are available, and recipients are selected by a review panel comprised of members of the HDA Awards Committee.
Award recipients received the following:
· Recognition and award plaque at the 2009 HDA Annual Meeting – Opening Ceremony on the evening of Thursday, October 22, 2009.
· A cash award of $500.00.
· Travel or meeting registration assistance funds in the amount of $200.00.
· A complimentary HDA membership for the 2010 member year.
Student Winners for this year’s award program are David Avenetti of the UCLA School of Dentistry and Maria Velasco of the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine.
